Welcome to WiseMama. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. About WiseMama

WiseMama is a UK-based educational platform providing parenting and pregnancy information to new and expectant parents. The content is informed by NHS, NICE, WHO, and UNICEF guidelines and is intended for general educational purposes only. WiseMama is not a regulated health service and is not a substitute for professional medical or midwifery care.

WiseMama is currently operated by an individual and is not a registered company. References to "WiseMama" in these terms refer to the individual operating the platform.

2. Medical Disclaimer

The content on WiseMama — including all lessons, flashcards, quizzes, tips, and AI-assisted search — is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute and must not be relied upon as:

• Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
• A substitute for the advice of a qualified healthcare professional.
• An endorsement of any specific clinical approach.

Always seek the advice of your midwife, GP, health visitor, or other qualified health provider with any questions you have regarding a medical condition or the health of yourself or your baby. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on WiseMama.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on WiseMama.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Do not share your account with others.
• You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Your Content

• Ownership — you retain full ownership of any diary entries or other content you create on WiseMama.
• Licence — by creating content or uploading photographs, you grant WiseMama a limited, non-exclusive licence solely to store, back up, and display that content to you as part of the service. We will never use your personal content or images for any other purpose.
• Responsibility — you are responsible for the content you create. WiseMama reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms.

5. Intellectual Property

All educational content on WiseMama — including lesson text, quiz questions, flashcards, illustrations, and the WiseMama name and branding — is the intellectual property of WiseMama and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without express written permission. Personal, non-commercial use for reference is permitted.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use WiseMama for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Upload content that is harmful, offensive, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account.
• Use the platform for spam, advertising, or any unauthorised commercial purpose.
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce the educational content for redistribution.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or compromise the security of the platform.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

WiseMama is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely accurate. Educational content is reviewed for accuracy but may not reflect the very latest clinical guidance — always verify time-sensitive medical information with a healthcare professional.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WiseMama and the individual operating it shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to:

• Reliance on any educational content on the platform.
• Loss of data or diary entries.
• Interruption or unavailability of the service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, as these cannot be excluded under UK law.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. All associated data, including diary entries and photographs, will be permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days of deletion. WiseMama reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the service or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. For significant changes, we will notify account holders by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of WiseMama shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
