What we do

A structured learning platform for pregnancy and early parenthood

WiseMama is a structured learning platform for pregnancy and newborn preparation. Instead of searching through dozens of websites or trying to remember what was covered in a single antenatal class, parents can work through carefully organised topics that explain the essential knowledge — clearly, practically, and in one place.

Each topic is designed to be easy to revisit whenever you need it: at 3am with a newborn, in a waiting room before a scan, or at the kitchen table preparing questions for your midwife appointment.

The WiseMama app takes things further — with quizzes, flashcards, myth-busting, a private journal, and weekly content personalised to your stage of pregnancy or your baby's age. It's free, and it works.

Why we exist

The problem we set out to solve

Many parents attend antenatal classes or search online for guidance — and encounter the same frustrations: important information scattered across many different sources, advice that is inconsistent or outdated, expensive courses that are hard to attend or impossible to revisit once they end.

The result is parents who arrive at birth, or at those first frightening weeks at home with a newborn, feeling less prepared than they deserved to be. Not because they didn't try — but because the resources available didn't serve them well.

WiseMama brings essential knowledge together into one calm, structured resource that parents can access anytime — and that grows with them from the first trimester through the first year.

Our approach

Three principles behind everything we build

🔍
Clarity
Information should be simple, structured, and genuinely easy to understand — not written to impress, but to inform.
🏥
Evidence-informed
Everything on WiseMama is grounded in established medical and midwifery knowledge, aligned with NHS, NICE, and RCOG guidance.
🌿
Warm support
Expecting and new parents deserve clear explanations delivered with kindness — without unnecessary fear, alarm, or judgment.

Our background

Founded by parents, informed by healthcare

WiseMama was created by parents who experienced first-hand how overwhelming it can feel to prepare for a baby when reliable information is scattered across many different sources. We built the resource we wished had existed.

The platform was developed with input from healthcare professionals, bringing a perspective shaped by clinical training and experience within the healthcare system. This helps ensure that everything WiseMama presents is balanced, practical, and aligned with current medical understanding — not sensationalised, not outdated, and not driven by advertising.

Our aim is not to replace the care provided by your midwife, health visitor, or GP. It is to help you better understand the journey ahead — so that when you walk into an appointment, you already speak the language, you know the right questions to ask, and you feel like an active participant in your own care.
